THE BRAKEVIEW KIT

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The BrakeView kit includes everything you need to begin making accurate measurements of your rotor geometry.

 

1. Durable Carrying Case
   Take your system with you.  The carrying case dimensions are also approved as 'carry on" for air travel.
    
2. BrakeView Console
   Includes a USB port and a PCMCIA slot for easy storing of measurements.  You can load the files back at your PC with BrakeViewDesktop.
    
3. Compact Flash Card and Adapter
   To upgrade the BrakeView software: simply place the new installation files on the compact flash card, insert the card and power up the system.
    
4. Calibration Fixture
   Used to hold the probes while calibrating the system.
    
5. Gage Blocks
   Gage blocks are used to calibrate the probes.  The BrakeView software guides you through a simple procedure of measuring two gage blocks - ensuring that your measurements will have the highest level of accuracy.
    
6. Cigarette Lighter Adapter
   Power your BrakeView system via the vehicles 12v system.  Don't worry about keeping it plugged in all of the time - BrakeView's internal battery allows for 1-2 hours of run-time!
    
7. Optical Sensor
   Detects the "zero point" of the rotation.  Contact us for other rotation sensing options.
   
   
8. Measuring Probes (LVDT's)
   BrakeView uses two Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT's) for measuring the braking surfaces - one on each side of the rotor.  These probes have a standard 3/8" outside diameter and are compatible with your current dial indicator fixturing.  BrakeView uses LVDT's with a measuring range of +/- 0.5 mm (+/- 0.020").  The LVDT's are fitted with large radius contacts to allow for the measurement of cross-drilled and slotted rotors.
   
   
9. Screen Protector Cloth
   Keeps your screen protected while not using BrakeView. 
    
10. Universal Probe Holder
    The BrakeView kit includes a universal probe holder - however, most customers choose to develop or purchase a custom probe holder that simply clips onto their caliper.  Contact us to learn more about probe holders for you caliper design.
     
11. A/C Adapter (110v / 220v)
    Powers BrakeView and re-charges the system's battery.
